WAYNETOWN -- Mrs. Minnie Widener, 93, a native of Montgomery County, died at 4 p.m. Wednesday at her home in Coldwater, Mich. She had been in failing health three years. Mrs. Widener had resided in Coldwater since 1905. Prior to that she resided in the Elmdale area. Born Nov. 7, 1873, in Coal Creek Township, she was a daughter of David and Miranda Williams Cowan. She was married to Guy O. Widener, who preceded her in death. Surviving are two sons, John of Coldwater and Harold of South Bend; four daughters, Miss Hazel Widener, with whom she made her home, Miss Alice Widener of Los Angeles and Mrs. Ernest Wolfe and Mrs. Charles Calkin, both of Battle Creek, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews in the Waynetown area. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Ray and Paul. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Gillespie Funeral Home at Coldwater. Interment will be in Coldwater cemetery.
